Throughout my career I have become increasingly convinced that executive search can be done differently.
Too often the industry begins with a job description and immediately starts searching for candidates. I have always believed the better conversation comes first.
Understanding the organisation. Listening to the challenges. Questioning assumptions. Helping clients define the leadership they truly need before identifying the individual who can deliver it.
Some of the appointments I am most proud of never existed when the first conversation began. They emerged because we took the time to understand the business.
Nearly twenty-five years in this market sits behind that, and on the engagements I lead, clients and candidates have it in the room throughout rather than at the milestones. That is a structural choice, and the fee structure follows it: a retainer to fund the depth of work, with the balance weighted towards a successful appointment.
That belief became TRIBU.

Claire Toffel
Claire's search career was built in venture capital and private equity, recruiting blue chip and entrepreneurial profiles across the full range of financial leadership appointments.
She has since broadened her search exposure to wider leadership roles within UK and international businesses.
After three years in a boutique recruitment firm, Claire joined the global finance recruiter Robert Half International in 2003. Over ten years there she held numerous positions, and was consistently among the firm's most experienced and successful search professionals.
In September 2019 she partnered with a good friend to support the growth of RB Partners, the business that has since become TRIBU.
Her deep functional expertise is matched by a focus on delivery: she takes pride in the quality of her work, and in being a right hand to founders and senior executives over the long term.
